I thought it looked way too cheesy in the book store so I grabbed People We Meet on Vacation instead..... but both these books are anything-but-cheesy, hot and hilarious, everything romance readers are searching for, books.

January Andrews, acclaimed woman's fiction author, just lost her father. If that wasn't enough, his funeral brought up a shocking secret from his past that leaves January wondering how much she actually new her dad and best friend. She's moved into his secret lake side cabin for the summer with hopes that the quiet will give her the inspiration she needs for her newest book; and after missing three manuscript deadlines, she needs a lot more than hope to fill the blank word document on her computer. January soon discovers that her next door neighbor was three slots above her on The New York Times Best Sellers list and her college rival,

Augustus Everette, the brooding author who has never written a happy ending for his characters or formally met any of his neighbors. January does everything she can to avoid him at first, but after a chance encounter in a book club meeting for neither of their books, they strike a deal that will take up their entire summer. January and August's challenge will take them from a line dancing bar to the scene of a cult massacre, with the hopes that they'll be able to change each others idea of happy endings.

"If you think the story has a sad ending, it's not over yet."

Ok I may just had a lot of time on my hands this summer, but this was another one day read for me. Augustus and January were both exciting and rewarding characters that I loved getting to know. I was not expecting this book to have the depth that it did and I was pleasantly surprised. Gus and January both learn to sort through their grief and loss side by side at some of North Bear Shores strangest attractions, leaving readers anticipating these weekend outings right along side them . This building romance was everything you're hoping for and a shockingly fresh escape.
