Truly one of the most amazing books I have read in a long time. Every single one of the last 100 pages is covered in my tears.

After 20 years out of the spotlight, 79 year old movie star Evelyn Hugo is ready to grace the cover of a magazine again. Claiming that she only wants to talk about a charity event, the editors at Vivant are ready to send their best journalist to grill her for whatever they can get. But, Monique Grant, a low to mid level writer withVivant, is most shocked to find out Evelyn has specifically requested her for the piece. She has made her demands clear, Monique Grant, or she's out. Monique knows that if she plays her cards right, this could jump start her career. Once she realizes a piece what Evelyn is up too, she presents her with two questions that Evelyn is not so inclined to answer, "Why me?" and "Evelyn, who was the love of your life?" Soon all her questions will be answers, but only on Evelyn's terms.

"Evelyn, who was the love of your life?"

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a daring and irresistible love story about sex, love, intimacy, and the distinct difference between the three. A vulnerable and sobering read that takes you through Old Hollywood, what a woman had to do to rise to fame, and the seven husbands she had along the way. Readers would be hard pressed not to fall in love with Evelyn Hugo over and over again, never learning that she'll rip your heart out each time. Because who can resist falling for a woman who never let anyone make her feel ordinary? This story made me ache to hear the end more than any mystery novel ever could. So who was truly the love of Evelyn's life? You'll have to hear the whole story to find out.

"And to anyone tempted to kiss the TV tonight, please don't chip your tooth."

This forbidden love story left me in a puddle of tears. I simply could not put it down. Evelyn is far from perfect and that is exactly why I loved her. To say this book is a must read is a drastic understatement. You know those books that make you not want to pick up a new one? Because you know you couldn't possibly love the characters in this random story you grabbed off a shelf like you love Evelyn and Monique, and Connor, and John, and Cecelia? This is that book. It made me feel like I was laying in the rain, somehow simultaneously listening to Taylor Swifts, All Too Well and For Emma by Bon Iver.
